About Chef Brian Sirois
Growing up in Rochester, NY Chef Brian was surrounded with a family that showed their love for each other through cooking. Whether it was the Italian Sunday dinner with the whole family or the nightly dinner with his parents and sister, food was always the way to bring everyone together. In his teenage years, Brian started working at local pizza shops and restaurants and quickly discovered that because of his upbringing he caught on very quickly. Although never planning to be a chef, it became clear that after endless attempts at pursuing other passions that cooking would always be a major part of his life.
In his early to mid twenties, Brian was the vocalist of a death metal band named Woodhaven. The band toured the entire country from coast to coast, and even toured through Canada. Between each tour he would return to Rochester to find a new restaurant job, as he was typically fired for leaving for lengthy amounts of time. Although one of the most memorable and cherished times of his life, he finally began to pursue being a professional chef as the days of pursuing music came to an end.
Once becoming Head Chef at a local Italian restaurant for a short stint, he then graciously accepted a position as Head Chef and Kitchen Manager at a local seafood restaurant named Palmers. It was there that he also became a culinary instructor where he taught himself and others an endless amount of recipes. He was also awarded a Community Service Award by the National Kidney Foundation for teaching classes to people that were looking for kidney healthy recipes.
Not only did the restaurant business provide lifelong friends and unbelievable memories but it is also where and how he met his loving partner. They worked side by side for years as best friends. They now have a daughter and a son together that light up every single corner of their lives. Needless to say, the kids have never had a bad meal and they eat just about everything you put in front of them.
Brian also owns a pressure washing business in Rochester, NY with one of his closest friends that he met in the restaurant business over twenty years ago. Together they own H2Eco Pressure Washers. They created the business as a way to work outside due to the years and years of being confined to restaurant walls, burners, hot oil, and chef coats.
But as they say, or maybe this is a first.. you can take the chef out of the kitchen but you can’t take the kitchen out of the chef. Food will always be a passion and will always continue to be pursued in one form or another. BrianSirois.com is the latest in his food journey.
