Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
Melt a stick of butter over low heat.
In a separate mixing bowl, add kefir.
Once butter is melted, add it to the kefir. It will form solids due to the difference in temperatures.
Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix together to form a dough. You can use a mixer but by hand is just as easy.
On a silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheet, portion and form 1/4 cup(doesn't have to be exact) sized biscuits. It usually yields 8-10 biscuits depending on your portions.
Place your biscuits in the oven, center rack or higher usually works best.
Melt the rest of the butter over low heat.
After 11 minutes, remove the biscuits from the oven and butter the tops.
Place the kefir biscuits back in the oven and bake for another 2 minutes.
Remove the biscuits from the oven.
Either cut the biscuits in half and butter or butter the top of the ones that you will be eating.
Optional: Serve with jam or jelly but make sure you try a bite of one without first!
